Franz Thomas Frederick Ninmann

Franz Thomas Frederick Ninmann, "Frank," of Floyd, VA, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, March 25, 2009 from Woodhaven Nursing Home in Montvale, VA.

He was predeceased by his wife of 50 years, Veda Weddle Ninmann, and a son, Leonard Eric Ninmann.

He was born May 19, 1917 in Wisconsin.

He is survived by daughter Cheryl N. Waldron and husband Donald of Bent Mountain; son Ben Ninmann and friend Gloria Flory, both of Lancaster, PA; grandson Jon Waldron and wife Sue of Check; granddaughter Susan W. Thomas and husband George of Roanoke County; nephews and nieces: Bill, Estelle, Hal, Teresa, Bev, Jim, Gary, Carolyn and Joyce, of North Carolina, California and Wisconsin; other extended family and friends.

He was a lifelong member of The Lutheran Church, Missouri Synod, and a founding member at Good Shepherd in Roanoke County.

He was a World War II Army veteran, serving in New Guinea, and awarded the Purple Heart.

Visitation from 6 - 8 pm Friday, March 27 at Maberry Funeral Home Chapel, also an hour prior to the 11:00 service on Saturday, March 28 at Maberry Funeral Home Chapel in Floyd, VA led by Pastor Keith Beasley of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, Missouri Synod. Burial will at Topeco Cemetery.

The family suggests that in lieu of flowers, those considering a memorial may send a contribution to Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 1887 Electric Rd, Roanoke, VA 24018
