Lovelynne (Lovell) Duncan Akers

Lovelynne (Lovell) Duncan Akers, of Floyd, passed away Sunday, Aug, 5, 2012 is spending her 98th birthday in heaven. She was born August 7, 1914 to the late William Austin and Sabra Wade Duncan.

She is preceded in death by her husband; Harless J. Akers, daughter & son-in-law; Loretta & Willie Altizer.

Lovell is survived by her son & daughter-in-law James & Ruth D. Akers of Roanoke, VA, grandsons; Bruce & wife Marylin Altizer of Fairlawn, VA, Larry & wife Linda Altizer, of Dublin, VA, Mark & wife Debbie Akers of Torrance, Calif., Terence Akers of Roanoke, VA, granddaughter; Molly A. & Kenney Thomas of Hardy, VA. Several great grandchildren; great-great grandchildren; nieces & nephews; special niece Phyllis Poff and nephew & wife Russell & Bernice Akers. Thanks to the nursing staff of B wing at Skyline Nursing and Rehab. For the care you gave Lovelynne. Special thanks to Pastor Roy Turpin for his visits and prayers over the years and to all others for their acts of love and kindness. Funeral Service will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 8, 2012 at Maberry Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Roy Turpin Officiating. Interment to follow at the Lester Cemetery. Family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 7, 2012 at the funeral home.
