Eugene Edward Draper
Eugene “Gene” Edward Draper, 87 formerly of Willis, passed away Tuesday, August 6, 2013 in Warsaw, VA.
Gene was born January 16, 1926, the son of the late Erma Draper and was raised by Nola Hill, “Aunt V” of Willis, VA. He graduated from Willis High School May 28, 1943 and entered into active service in the United Sates Navy December 8, 1943. He served in World War II until he was honorably discharged May 11, 1946. After serving in the Navy Gene worked for the Virginia Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control for 34 years and retired July 1, 1985. Gene had many cousins all originally of Willis, VA.
Funeral Service will be held 12:00 p.m. Friday, August 9, 2013 at Maberry Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Darlene Marshall officiating. Interment to follow in Pleasant Hill Cemetery. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
