JJames David "J.D." Bower

James David "J.D." Bower, 64 of Floyd, went to be his Lord and Savior Monday, April 16, 2012. He was preceded in death by his parents David & Christine Bower. He is survived by his loving wife of 42 years Melba Hawley Bower. Together they raised two fine sons, Jay and Timmy. His is also survived by his daughters-in-law Penny & Melodie, and three grandchildren; Haleigh, Mariya, and Jacob. He is also survived by his brothers; Luther Bower & Phyllis, Daniel Bower, Lemuel Bower & Susie; and several nieces and nephews. James served as superintendent of Red Oak Grove Church of the Brethren. He worked at Federal Mogul for 34 years. James enjoyed woodworking, camping and playing golf. He loved his special four-legged friend Daisy-Mae. James was a devoted husband, father and loving grandfather. He will be greatly missed, but we rejoice in the hope of seeing him again in heaven.

Funeral Service will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 18, 2012 at Red Oak Grove Church of the Brethren with Rev. Hebron Quesenberry, Rev. Jimmy Cannaday and Calvin Hawley. Interment to follow in the Red Oak Grove Cemetery. Family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, April 17, 2012 at Maberry Funeral Home.
