Dorris Coleman Helms

Dorris Coleman Helms, 72 of Willis, VA passed away at his home on Tuesday August 24, 2010. He was preceded in death by his parents J. T. and Rhee Helms. He is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Frances W. Helms; his daughters, Mona Helms, Melanie Matthews and husband Bill, Tammy Worrell and husband Darren; and his beloved grandson Coleman Worrell. He was a long time farmer who loved animals, the outdoors and bluegrass music. He was also a well known gunsmith. The family will receive friends on Thursday, August 26th from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Maberry Funeral Home in Floyd, VA. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, August 27th at Maberry Funeral Home Chapel officiated by Jeff Dalton. Interment to follow at Topeco Cemetery.
