Allen Lane Weeks

Allen Lane Weeks, 62 of Floyd, passed away on Saturday, February 9, 2013 at LewisGale Hospital Montgomery. He was the son of the late General Jewel and Gazelle Robertson Weeks. He was a loyal employee of Hollingsworth &Vose in Floyd for over 35 years and was a devoted member and deacon of Beaver Creek Church of the Brethren. He was a veteran of the United States Navy and the Vietnam War.

Allen is survived by his loving wife of 39 years, Katherine Barco Weeks, and the three greatest joys in his life, daughter, Sarah Weeks of Glen Allen, VA; son and daughter-in-law, Derek and Britney Weeks of Summerville, GA. Also surviving are sister, Donna Russell, of Rockville, MD; brothers and sisters-in-law, Clyde & Mary Weeks, Chicago, IL., Carl & Selma Weeks, Fredericksburg, and Sheila Weeks, of Dedham, MA; brothers-in-law & sisters-in-law, Cecil & Edna Barco Barnes, Gregg & Elaine Barco, and Ada Barco, all of Shawboro, NC. Many special nieces and nephews and the entire H&V Gang also survive.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Richard Weeks and General Weeks, Jr., and one sister, Velva Weeks.

Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, February 12, 2013 at Beaver Creek Church of the Brethren, 409 Ridgeview Road NW, Floyd with Rev. Marvin Wade officiating. Interment to follow in Beaver Creek Cemetery with Military Rites by Grover King Post #1115. The family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m. on Monday, February 11, 2013 at the Maberry Funeral Home Chapel.
