Trudy Phillips Slaughter

Trudy Phillips Slaughter, 93 of Christiansburg formerly of Indian Valley, passed away on Saturday, December 15, 2012. She is preceded in death by her husband, Lowman Slaughter; and daughter, Linda Harris.

She is survived by her son, Tommy Slaughter and wife Deborah; son-in-law, Ronald Harris; grandsons, Kevin Harris, Jason Slaughter and wife Alicia; great-granddaughters, Alison, Marlee, and Jasie Marie Slaughter; sister, Olivia Gardner; sisters-in-law, Mabel Hollandsworth, Eavie Phillips, Agnes Phillips; special friends and caretakers, Alice Overfelt, and Sybil Eavs; several nieces and nephews.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of Skyline Manor Nursing Home and English Meadows Assisted Living.

Funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Monday, December 17, 2012 at the Maberry Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Roy Turpin officiating. Interment to follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 4-6 p.m. on Sunday, December 16, 2012 at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O.
