Lillie Belle Burks Brown

Lillie Belle Burks Brown, 85 of Floyd, went to be with the Lord on January 16, 2012 after a long battle with Alzheimer’s. She was born on May 8, 1926. She was preceded in death by her husband Thomas E. Brown. She was one of 17 children and had 10 brothers and 6 sisters, 11 of which are deceased along with one step-grandson.

She is survived by her Children, Brenda Goad, Merrillville, IN, Russell Brown & wife Bonnie, Floyd, VA, Patty Duncan & husband John, Floyd, VA; 8 Grandchildren; 11 Great-Grandchildren; 2 Great Great-Grandchildren; Siblings, Mary Burks, Keystone, WV, Georgia Bailey, South Point, OH, Lois Poff, Willis, VA, Maggie Moody, Brenton, WV, King Burks, Kimball, WV; Sister-in-Law, Shirley Keith, Bassett, VA; Brother-in-Law & Sister-in-Law, Buddy & Violet Brown, Willis, VA; Sister-in-Law, Betty Brown, Willis, VA; special friends, Lucy & Junior Harris; special friend and caregiver, Loretta Callahan, who always called her Granny.

Funeral Service will be held 1:00 p.m. Thursday, January 19, 2012 at the Maberry Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Roy Turpin officiating. Interment will follow at the Jacksonville Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, January 18, 2012 at the funeral home.
