John Ellis Lawson

John Ellis Lawson, 89 a resident of Virginia Veterans Care Center in Roanoke, VA, passed away on February 5, 2009, after a long illness. He was born and raised in Patrick County, VA the son of the late Turner and Agnes Lawson. He was a proud World War II Veteran. He spent most of his adult life in Pueblo, Co, where he owned the Lawson Television sales and Repair Company. He is preceded in death by his wife, Marie, a daughter, Diana Sue, 3 brothers and 4 sisters.

Surviving are Sisters & Brothers-In-Law: Irene & Earl Simpson of Martinsville, VA, Lila Buchanan of Austin, TX, Wilma & Al Padgett of Baltimore, MD, and Clara & Larry Desper of Cloverdale, VA; Sister-In-Law Arlene Lawson of Christiansburg, VA; Brother-In-Law Warren Harris of Pulaski County VA; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday February 7, 2009 at Maberry Funeral Home Chapel with Elder Edward Bowman officiating. Family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. prior to the funeral. Interment to follow in the Lawson Cemetery, Meadows of Dan, VA with Military Rites by Patrick County Memorial Honor Guard. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Meadows of Dan VFW Post # 8467 c/o of Rex Faris 333 Burnett Road Meadows of Dan, VA 24120.
