William Franklin Dunford

William “Bill” Franklin Dunford, 78, of Riner, VA, was reunited in Heaven with our Great Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and his loving wife, Maxine Virginia Pullin Dunford that he has missed so much on Monday, January 4, 2010. He has also joined his treasured and precious daughter, Patricia Gale Dunford Odum, and his many brothers and sisters with respect to their families: Daphine Dunford, Millie Dunford, Delma White, Juanita-“Nita” Wickham, Barbara-“Tiny” Etter, Theodore-“Pete” Dunford, and Clifton- “Bud” Dunford.

He will be remembered with pride and honor; however missed so deeply by his family including all Christians, as he viewed them as his “brothers and sisters in Christ”.

He is survived by his children who loved and respected him with all of their hearts: his sons, Ronald Edward St. Pierre and wife Ellie, Michael David Dunford and wife Shirley, and his daughter, Susan Rebecca Dunford Duncan and husband, Glen. His dedicated surviving brothers, twin, Thomas, “Tommy”, Robert, “Bob”, and Conrad, “Con” Dunford who always loved and cared deeply for their brother.

Perhaps, his most pride and Joy recently came from the blessings of not only the lord but from the joy of his Grandchildren, Ronald “Scott” St. Pierre, Michelle Dawn Odum, Shane Michael Duncan, and Brandon Shaye Duncan as well as great Grand Children, Adam and Rachael St Pierre.

We would also like to recognize all of the church members of Beaver Creek Church of the Brethren for their wonderful love and support and his in-laws, especially John and Judy Fogle, not to mention a best friend from years gone by who made him so happy to hear from, Bob Watkins. The family wishes they could mention everyone, but you know who you are and we are grateful for your love.

William Dunford was the best family member any person could have asked for and he has many who treasure him and love him; even though we will all miss him, we know he is with our Lord and he is rejoicing.

Visitation with Family and friends will be held at Maberry Funeral Home, Floyd VA from 6:00pm – 8:00pm on Tuesday, January 5, 2010; with funeral services being held on Wednesday, January 6, 2010 at 3:00pm at Beaver Creek Church of the Brethren, Floyd VA.
