Arthur William Shelton

Arthur William Shelton, age 73, of Christiansburg, VA, passed away on Sunday, March 27, 2011.

He was preceded in death by Parents, Kyle and Jocie Shelton; Brothers, Charlie and Erbie Shelton.

Survivors include Wife of 49 years, Reneda Shelton; Sons and Daughter-In-Law, Michael Shelton, David Shelton, Stephen and Heather Shelton; Granddaughters, Amanda and Paul Osborne, Allison Bishop, Joci Shelton, and Addie Shelton; Great Grandson, Paul Osborne, Jr.; Sisters and Brothers-In-Law, Myrtle Rotenberry, Jeanette Bishop, Louise and Cobern Quesenberry, Hazel and Robbie Phillips, Irene and Les Dalton, and Zula Saul.

Arthur will be remembered for his friendly personality and infectious enthusiasm for life. He enjoyed listening to bluegrass music and talking with friends. He loved hunting, four-wheeling, and doing almost anything else that involved being outdoors. He was an honest and good friend, neighbor, co-worker, and family man who helped others and wanted nothing in return. Most of all, he loved his precious grandchildren with all of his heart as they were his inspiration and reason for living. Everyone should live their life with such humor, love, and distinction.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Thursday, March 31, 2011 at the Maberry Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Clyde Bishop officiating. Interment will follow in the Captain George Quesenberry Cemetery. Visitation will be held 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, March 30, 2011 at Maberry Funeral Home.

Dear Papa,

I'm sorry you died and I really miss you. I bet you get to meet lots of new people in heaven. Thank you for helping me plant a garden and for taking care of me. If Grandma ever gets sick I will take care of her. Please send me some gold from heaven!
