Janie Elizabeth Grogans

Janie Elizabeth Grogans, 67 of Rocky Mount, went Home on Sunday, March 2, 2014. She is preceded in death by her parents, James & Julia Grogans.

She is survived by her children & spouses, Deneen & Chris Hughes, Vincent & Joan Calloway, Raymond & Tina Calloway, Thomas & Ethel Calloway, Cheryl & Anthony Whorley; 16 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; sisters, Betty Nicholson, Claudine Stuart; brothers, Edward & Annie Grogans, General Grogans; aunt, Fannie Webb; and a host of cousins, nieces & nephews, and friends.

A Home Going will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, March 7, 2014 at the Maberry Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in the Grogans Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1 – 2 p.m. at the funeral home prior to the service.

The family would like to offer a special thanks to numerous doctors and nurses and other medical professionals at Carilion Roanoke Memorial and Hospice Staff for their many acts of kindness and compassion, and to the Franklin County Dialysis Center.
