Chester Elwood Janney

Chester Elwood Janney, 79, of Floyd, Va, passed away on Monday, November 2, 2009. He was preceded in death by Parents, Luther and Mincie West Janney. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict.

He is survived by Wife of 51 ½ years, Evelyn Mae Harman Janney; Sons, George Stephen Janney and Robert Elwood and wife Sherry Shaver Janney; Daughter, Anita Janney Goad and husband William Kyle “Butch”; Brother, Thurman Willard and wife Dorothy Vest Janney; Sister, Lelia Janney Huff and husband Coolidge; Grandchildren, Darin Goad, Stephanie Goad, Lindsey Janney, Austin Janney, Logan Janney, and Ava Janney.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 5, 2009 at the Stonewall Brethren Methodist Church with Rev Jerry Hylton and Rev. Darren Landon officiating. Interment to follow in the Vest Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday, November 4, 2009 at the Maberry Funeral Home Chapel.
