
Wayne Edward Phillips
Wayne Edward Phillips, 71 of Willis, went to be with his Savior Jesus Christ, on Monday, May 06, 2013, He was an avid builder, woodworker, and owner of Phillips Brothers Builders, a company that was founded by his father and uncles. He also enjoyed working in the garden and yard work alongside his children and grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, Victor & Nannie Phillips of Willis; brother, Joe Phillips of Indian Valley; nephew, Andrew Phillips of Christiansburg; and a niece, Vickie Phillips Belcher of Indian Valley.
He is survived by his son, Lonnie & Donna Phillips, Sr.; daughter, Victoria Harris & J.R. Ferguson all of Willis; 9 grandchildren, Tabatha Thomas, Victor Quesenberry, Aaron Duncan, Samantha Phillips, Tyler Quesenberry, Taylor Duncan, Logan Quesenberry, Lonnie Phillips, Jr., and Peyton Harris all of Willis; one great-granddaughter, Chloe Thomas; two brothers, Nelson & Geila Phillips of Indian Valley, Tobias & Kathy Phillips of Pearisburg; uncle and aunts, Elza & Helen Phillips off South Mount, and Mozell Phillips of Willis; special friends, Steven & Hazel Harman of Christiansburg; many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, May 8, 2013 at the Indian Creek Primitive Baptist Church with Elder Thomas C. Pegram and Elder Lowell Hopkins officiating. Interment to follow at the Indian Creek Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m. on Tuesday, May 7, 2013 at the church.
