Betty Jane (Sunny) Bernardine

Betty Jane (Sunny) Bernardine, 87 of Floyd, passed away on Saturday October 5, 2013. She is preceded in death by her husband; Leroy Umberto Bernardine, parents; William Reynolds and Huldah Soloma Medley McAtic, sister; Rosemary McAtic. She is survived by her cousin; Donnie Medley and wife Shirley of Giles, Neice; Betty McAtic of IL. The family and friends want to thank Skyline Nursing and Rehab for the good care she received and Maberry Funeral Home for all the love and support they gave Sunny through the years to the end. A celebration of life will be held 2 p.m. Sunday October 20, 2013 at 1605 Cannaday School Road Floyd, VA. The Floyd County Humane Society mourns the loss of long time member Betty ‘Sunny’ Bernardine. Sunny was dedicated to animal rescue and had a special place in her heart for saving the dogs at the Floyd County Dog Pound. She continued to foster homeless dogs and attended all our adoption events until her passing. Sunny will be remembered for her feisty Chicago personality, her great sense of humor, and most of all, her compassion for all animals. We will miss her very much.
