Ruth Donahue Muller

Ruth Donahue Muller, 89 of Roanoke, went to join her husband with their Lord and Savior on Friday, November 25, 2011. Ruth was born at her parents’ home in Roanoke on July 31, 1922 to the late Mathew Sylvanius & Annie Myrtle Cooper Donahue. She graduated from Andrew Lewis High School and from Jefferson School of Nursing. After college she and a friend decided to travel across country. She stopped in several locations during her travels to care for individuals suffering from the polio epidemic. Her final stop was in Santa Monica, CA where she met her late husband Edward Joseph Muller. She settled in CA with her husband and worked as a R.N. at the VA Medical Center until her retirement. The couple lived in Roseburg, OR for a time and then Sarasota, FL for 18 years. After the death of her husband in 1996 Ruth moved back to Roanoke to be close to her family. She was also preceded in death by her sister; Edith Donahue Hall, brothers; Ladison (Paul), Richard, William Thomas, and Jesse Owen Donahue.

Left to cherish her memory is her brother & sister-in-law; Lawrence Albert & Imogen Donahue, Sister & brother-in-law; Ethel Beatrice Donahue Lancaster & Don Shipley. Sisters-in-law; Emma Donahue and Helen Donahue. Several nephews and nieces.

Family will receive friends 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Monday, November 28, 2011 at Oakey’s South Chapel.

Entombment with committal service will be held 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 29, 2011 at Evergreen Burial Park.
