Samuel Ervin Luckadoo

Samuel Ervin Luckadoo, 76 of Christiansburg, passed into his Heavenly Home on Saturday, June 8, 2013. Sam was born on May 23, 1937 in Montgomery Co. He was the son of the late Monroe & Ruby Luckadoo. He is also preceded in death by two sisters, Mildred Trump and Becky Bailey; stepson, Benton McGuire; and an infant son at birth. Sam was retired from Hooker Furniture with 32 years of service.

He is survived by his loving wife and soul mate of 40 years, Glada Luckadoo; brother & sister-in-law, Butch & Marie Luckadoo; sister & brother-in-law, Lorraine & George Chafin; children, Laura Roop & husband Ronnie, Mildred Whitescarver, Ramona Richards & husband Kenny, Joyce Bain, and Darrell McGuire; special grandchildren, Jennifer McGuire, Janice McGuire & fiancé Adam Brown, and Tyler Roop; special nephew, John Minnick & wife Nancy of Yorktown; and special cousin, Joe LaRue & wife Shirley of Christiansburg.

Funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 12, 2013 at the Maberry Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jerry Shepherd and Rev. Jube Burk officiating. Interment to follow in the White Rock Cemetery. Randy Kesler, William Preston Caldwell, John Minnick Sr., John Minnick Jr., Dallas Farmer, and Michael Strickland will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday, June 11, 2013 at the funeral home.
