Dorothy Ellen Howard

Dorothy Ellen Howard, 88, of Floyd, passed away Wednesday, February 26, 2014. She is preceded in death by her husband Junior Holt Howard; Son Roy Lee Howard; Daughters Loretta Ann Harmon and Brenda Sue Howard. Those left to cherish her memory include her Daughters & Sons-in-Law Claudine and William Vance of Floyd, Ruth & Rudy Garcia of Elkin, NC, Mary Frances & Gary Scott, Sr. of Floyd, Marie & Roger Richards of Bassett; Son Richard Davis Howard of Elkin, NC; Brothers and Sisters-in-Law Edward & Judith Howard of Copper Hill, Jessie & Peggy Howard of Roanoke; Sisters and Brothers-in-Law Edith & Rifton Light of Floyd, and Mabel & Wayne Dulaney of Vinton; 13 Grandchildren, 25 Great Grandchildren, 3 Great Great Grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 1, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. in the Maberry Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Gene Koger, Rev. Warren Bumgarner, and Rev. Murray Agee officiating. Interment will follow at Jacksonville Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Friday, February 28, 2014, from 6 - 8 p.m. at Maberry Funeral Home.
