Janice Marie Hicks

Saturday night November 14, 2009 we lost our anchor, Janice Marie Hicks of Christiansburg– mother, grandmother, wife, aunt & sister. She lived through the loss of her oldest brother Edward James killed in WWII, infant sister Margory James, son Linny T. Hicks, Jr., father Walter James, mother Madeline James, sister Maebelle Wood, Brother-in-law Cleo Wood, & husband of 58 years Linwood T. Hicks, Sr. in 2003.

We that live will carry on our loving memories: Son, Jon Hicks of Christiansburg; Daughters & son-in-law, Jan Lang of Christiansburg, and Myra & David R. Badger of Blacksburg; Grandsons, Daniel & Nicole Hicks of Salt Lake City, Utah, Matthew Buttel of Roanoke, David J. Badger, and Mark T. Badger both of Blacksburg; Brother & sister-in-law, Marshall & Darnell James of Floyd; Sister, Myra Poff; Aunt, Flora Nolen of Floyd; Along with many cousins, nieces, and nephews; and Special care givers, Katie, Pepe’, and Suzy.

Our memories are not in vain because of her faith in the Lord, we shall see her again.

Special thanks to Christiansburg Family Medicine, especially to Dr. Hannah & Nurses April & Kelly. Special thanks to Rescue Squad and Carilion NRV Medical Center ER, CCU, doctors & nurses for their wonderful care of our mother and nurturing of our family.

Family & relatives are invited to the Funeral Service 12:00 Thursday November 19, 2009 at Maberry Funeral Home, Floyd with Rev. Richard Thomas officiating. Interment will follow in Jacksonville Cemetery. Visitation will be 1 hour prior to the service.
