William Lee Phillips, Sr.

William Lee “Bill” Phillips, Sr., 70 of Salem, passed away Sunday January 4, 2009 after a battle with cancer. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle.

He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Helen Workman Phillips; Sons & daughter-in-law: Donald Phillips, and Lee & Debbie Phillips; A precious granddaughter Dreama Phillips & fiancé Brandon Lovejoy; Brother & Sister-in-Law Richard & Ann Phillips of Salem; Sister & Brother-in-law Erma & Clinton Alley of Pilot; and Special Cousin & friend, Harold & Judy Phillips of Salem.

Graveside service will be held 2:00 P.M. Tuesday January 6, 2009 at the Phillips-Kessler Cemetery, Indian Valley with Elder Kenneth Hopkins officiating. Flag Presentation by V.F.W. Post #7854 and American Legion Post # 127. The Family would like to thank everyone at the Virginia Veterans Care Center, Salem Health and Rehabilitation Center, Good Samaritan Hospice, & Avantis Hospice for the great care Bill received.
